If I'm ever going to have a baby by the right kind of guy, it'll have to be this way: I was actually thinking I'd try to look for a sperm bank since there's no way I can get the kind of guys I'd like, to actually marry me and want to have their kids look like me. I'm Native American, but because I have dark skin, even though I have a Bachelor's degree in bioengineering from MIT, a Master's degree in environmental engineering from Yale and a law degree, plus a Math teaching license and am en route to an ASL interpreter certification, I can't get decent guys of similar educational backgrounds to give me the time of day much less date me or marry me. If I do this, I could have a baby with the right kind of guy and then give it up for adoption so that it is raised in the proper environment and with all the educational opportunities I had. It's not just that New Mexico doesn't have many choices in terms of decent sperm-donation material; I'm just too educated and well brought up to be an unwed single mother (hence the "give it up for adoption to a family that CAN raise it properly" part). However, it didn't take law school for me to know that most gay couples wanting a surrogate for "their" child aren't going to want an over-40 Native American woman no matter how many college degrees I have - and the fact that I have an IQ of 165 will also be a moot point once they SEE me. I was raised college-prep, suburban, middle-class, graduated highest honours in my class, scored in the 97th percentile of all college-bound students on my ACTs. I am fully literate in French, Spanish, Latin, and German, and am working on American Sign Language. I’m the daughter of a Cost Accountant. (Although most if not all Math teachers have an Accountant in our genes somewhere).
