Reasons for Joining: I would like to help others complete their families and, at the same time, would really love to be a biological father. At 59 years I am aware that time is passing, but I still feel willing and able to become a father - and hope that circumstances will smile on us. I am white Caucasian (5/8s Scottish [although I have never lived there] and 3/8 English [where I have mostly lived – in addition to 3 years each in Singapore and Cyprus]), intelligent (Mensan since 1990), artistic (amateur pianist since school) and optimistic (hence this post!).
I could say pretty much the same things about myself as the other men whose statements I have read – I am warm, caring, want to have a baby, am relatively “laid-back”, flexible and awkward/embarrassed etc - and I too was cute as a toddler! Obviously I am special to me, but recognise that I am just another (reproductively) frustrated man who wants to become a father. Since June 2018 I have been working as a doctor in Hertfordshire, staying during the week in Tring. I have a car and commute to Manchester at the weekends – where I live with my girlfriend of 24 years.
Involvement After Conception is negotiable; I would prefer not to have direct contact, but would like to have updates about how the child(ren) is/are managing (and could maybe help with finances) - more would be good if circumstances permit!
Hobbies and Interests: Television, eating out and socialising with people. I am an amateur pianist (I am pretty well up to speed playing the first movement of Beethoven's "Moonlight" Sonata), a member of Mensa (since 1990) and an Anglican (albeit not a good one!).
Personality Traits: A sociable introvert, I work hard, but also have a good sense of humour – which is often necessary in healthcare!
Health: Generally good; my sperm count is lower than it was, but I have tested negative for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV (through Occupational Health screening)!
