Other Info: As probably for many people here, my life didn't really go the way I thought it would. I am definitely not complaining because I have had a great ride so far. :) I moved to the U.S. by myself at age 27 from Germany and it was the best decision I have made for myself. I achieved everything that I wanted to achieve in my life. Well almost... I never thought that I would find myself single at age 41. That I can tell you guys! I have always dreamed of having a big family. It sounds cheesy, but when I was young, my favorite series was 7th Heaven and I always thought how cool it would be to have such a big happy family. Well, I have not yet found the man who I can share this part of the journey with. So, I have decided to start on my own. There is not deadline to finding a man, but there is unfortunately to having a child.
I would love to find a wonderful known donor, because I don't want my child to wonder. I want my child to be able to look at a man and say "That's my biological father; that's where my second half of DNA is from". Even if that donor will not be a father in the traditional sense, I still think it is better than having to always wonder.
Best case scenario would be, finding a man I get along with really well, and someone who is not only willing to be known to the child but maybe even wants some contact. I definitely want to keep full custody, but I would love if the child knew who their biological father is.
